The development of a single storey extension at Hermitage Primary School to provide a new Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Unit. Enhancing educational support for students with autism. The new extension is designed to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment tailored to the needs of children with ASD. The project is part of the school’s commitment to expanding specialist education provision in the borough.
Spaces are designed to be sensory-friendly and autism-appropriate, following guidelines from the National Autistic Society.
The extension includes a garden adjacent to the northern edge of the site, providing a calming outdoor space for children, with seating, planting and biodiversity features.
